THE X'S

The X's are agents of SUPERIOR.

They are also a family of operatives who devote most of their days and nights fighting S.N.A.F.U. (more on it in a bit), said activities often interfering with normal life - if 'normal' is something any of the four family members ever had.

The patriarch of the family is Tucker X, aka Mr. X, a handsome and undoubtedly dashing 40-year-old man who is said to be an interesting combination of James Bond and Maxwell Smart; he is suave and smooth at all times - except when he is not! He is good at his job and is known for succeeding in his missions but he does tend to suffer from absentmindedness ever so often. Mr. X enjoys being a father but is known for being strict and by-the-book. He is also the one doing the cooking at home because his mate most assuredly is not.

The matriarch for the X's is Trudy X, aka Mrs. X, a 38-year-old very attractive woman who is a naturally gifted athlete who enjoys tennis and training and who has very impressive martial-arts skills. She is a loving and protective mother to her two children, so much so that her fighting abilities are very much made obvious to anyone who dares threaten them. She is quite nurturing but you do not want her in a kitchen.

Tuesday X is the 16-year-old purple-haired teenage daughter and fellow agent. She is, like her mother, very competent and deadly with hand-to-hand fighting and can give an opponent a solid beat-down when it is needed. She is also very good at organizing the data and is referred to as the "mission investigator". She enjoys wearing punk-rock clothes and changing the color of her hair (purple, anyone?) but nevertheless is the most down-to-earth member of family having the best grasp of what the 'real' (i.e., non-spy) world is like.

Truman X is the 10-year-old son who happens to be a genius and works as the group's technology expert. He is described as being obnoxious and immature and his sense of humor leaves a lot of people cold. He spends a lot of his time in his room which doubles as a lab and a tool room and in it he comes up with an amazing assortment of death rays and explosives.

The organization for which the X's work, SUPERIOR, is a highly secret group - it must be because I could learn very little about it. Apparently it is always spelt in capital letters but if that indicates it is an acronym, I have no idea what it breaks out to.

The main enemy that the X's go up against is the Society of Nefarious and Felonious Undertakings, aka S.N.A.F.U. [Note, as a breakdown of what an acronym stands for, it is one of the betters ones I have heard.] Leading this organization is the arch-enemy of the X's, Glowface; said name given him because his head is always hidden inside a glass globe which throws off electricity. He is described as being a megalomaniac and highly dangerous but he does tend to think himself better at his job of being deadly than he actually is.

I never saw any of these shows when they first came on and what I watched recently for this entry did not leave me with any major feelings other than a desire to not watch any more. Apparently that sentiment was shared by the host of viewers who did see it when it was on because the show did not last very long. Rightly so, IMHO.

To me, Mr. X was the bad parts of both Bond and Agent 86 and Mrs. X was just mean and vicious and pretty scary in a "no telling what she will do next" sort of way. Truman X was a poop-head most of the time. Tuesday was the only "normal-ish" one of the group but even she had issues.

I did not watch much. I was happy not watching more.
