ABOUT THE SERIES

Ginger McAllister is a part-time agent for American Intelligence.

Exactly who she works for not really defined and seems to fluctuate as her work goes on.

When we first meet her she could easily be described as a young adult member of the idle rich, happy to drive a brand new expensive sportscar provided her by her rich father but getting bored with the constant doing nothing of interest. That is likely why when she is approached by an agency to help them, she jumps at the chance. Now, what the agency is remains sketchy as it could be a federal law enforcement department or a local one - it is not quite stated. What we know is that men with serious attitudes and badges come calling.

Why they came to her is a mystery. Yes, her contacts with the nouveau riche makes her valuable but from what we know of her, she has absolute no training in law enforcement or criminal investigations. She does show an impressive ability at fighting hand-to-hand; judo tossing bad guys with ease and using swiftly applied karate chops to the nape of the neck, not to mention tripping and kicking in the knees and higher up.

Plus there is her blond beauty that is sure to open most doors, especially by bad men with voracious appetites. Add the fact that she loves to hang out in very small bikinis and it is easy to see why she gets invited into places those serious men with badges would not.

In the next two adventures, the employment seems more established and the employer more likely to be national than local, especially since the blurbs refer to her as "the wildest, sexiest super-spy". There are even a couple blurbs that mention the CIA though that could be hype.

Her skillset has definitely improved quite a bit; there is a chance in the intervals she was given formal training. Another thing that is clear is that she gets even tougher on the bad guys while at the same time showing even less concern with having her clothes taken away - a seminude or totally naked Ginger is very dangerous opponent.

As one blurb I read put it: "She's sinful, she's seductive, she's Ginger! Super spy Ginger lives only for the pleasures of danger and desire. Taking life head on with a vengeance, men fall prey to Ginger's seduction as she goes undercover in a top secret assignment of high powered excitement. Falling into enemy hands, can Ginger rescue herself from continuous assaults of torture and rape? Watch Ginger in action as she loves as hard as she fights."

Another states, "Her weapon is her body ... She can cut you, kill you or cure you!" I have no idea what that means.

MY COMMENTS

A couple of years after leaving the Navy to work in the computer game industry, I had enough money to buy a larger TV and a VCR and I found a local video store that specialized in low-budget movies. My appetite for B-movies became sated again and again. A couple of these Ginger movies were among the several hundred I watch while chowing down on buttered popcorn and drinking diet sodas (yeah, I know).

Years pass and I forgot, well, just about all of those movies because there were little memorable items worthy. Except, of course, a neuron or two still held something because long after I started this compendium, I came across mention of Ginger and - ding! I remembered!! Not well, of course, because I was likely in a butter-and-aspartame induced high at the time but I did recall snippets of them.

Seeing bits and pieces of these shows on the web lets me recall how bad they were and how much fun they were as well.
