ABOUT THE SERIES

Spy Fox is an agent with Spy Corps.

This handsome male - well, we must assume he is handsome because, well, why wouldn't a dashing hero always dressed in a white tuxedo that never seems to get wrinkled be expected to be good looking - is a bit different than any other dressed-to-the-nines heroic figure. This one is an anthropomorphized fox.

Yep, Fox. Bushy luxuriant brown fur, full and fluffy and long tail with a yellowish-white tip. Sleepy dark bedroom eyes set just above an exceptionally long pointed noise which is itself just above a mouth often set in a grin as if he knows things we don't. You know, sly like, as would be appropriate.

This fellow, and we never get any name for him except Spy Fox which is obviously a covername because who would name their son Spy, is the main and the best and the most famous of operatives for an intelligence organization we know by my opening statement is called Spy Corps. We do not learn much about this gentleman's history - isn't that just like a spy to be coy with his background - but we have to assume based on, well, assumptions, that he has been doing this a while because he is so darned confident and practiced.

As would seem fitting for someone of Spy Fox's stature, he has a couple of assistants in the background helping him achieve his always impossible missions.

First and foremost is Money Penny, an anthropomorphic monkey who is his assistant back at headquarters who monitors just about everything and keeps Spy Fox aware of all sorts of trouble heading his way and ways he might go to avoid problems to get where he needs to go to do what he needs to do. She is always dressed for trouble herself in a tight fitting black action suit.

And then there is Professor Quack who is a duck (duh!) who is the brains behind all sorts of really cool and impressive and must-have pieces of equipment. Quack is the one who keeps the spy gadget vending machine stocked with the freshest and neatest and deadliest doo-dads. I especially like the laser toothbrush.

Oh, while not a living member of the team but still so cool as to demand mention is the vehicle that Spy Fox uses throughout his many exciting missions - M.E.S.S. which stands for the Multiple Environment Spy Ship and is something I really want to have.

MY COMMENTS

I was a game programmer for several decades and I played a whole lot of other people's games to learn from them as well as enjoy them and action games like Spy Fox were especially pleasing to me while at the same time almost impossible for me to play with any skill. I kinda really sucked at them but that did not keep me from trying over and over.

I gave Spy Fox a try because my kids, well, my youngest at the time, played Putt Putt - another IP from Humongous Entertainment - all the time and so I got a couple of other games from them for her, like Freddi Fish and Buzzy the Knowledge Bug. And naturally Spy Fox because while I had no idea whether she would enjoy them or not, I knew I would. And hey, I was the one doing the buying!
